of households claiming council tax benefit was chosen to represent poverty because it is a
good way of measuring financial insecurity.
The graph shows that the
number of households in Coventry receiving council tax benefit is not changing
dramatically and has been above one in nine households for the last four years.
[This data only includes
‘Life Claimants’, households which stay on benefits throughout the year, and
does not include households that come on then go off during the year.]
