Borough are set to bolster their strike force by signing one of non-league footballs
most prolific goalscorers.
Steve Pierce is out of contract at his current club Halesowen Town and has been talking
with Boro boss Brendan Phillips about a possible move.
Pierce, who currently leads the scoring stakes in the Dr Martins Premier Division, will
join on a free transfer but Boro face competition to sign him from a host of other clubs.
Manager Phillips believes he would be a great acquisition. He said:
"Hes a quality striker and at just 24 would not only be a vital asset for
our return to the conference, but for years to come.
"In my mind hes the top finisher outside of the conference and as he lives
this side of Birmingham there would be no problems as regards travelling."
Borough are away at Tamworth tomorrow in their final game of the season.
