Nuneaton
Borough are at home to third place Ilkeston Town tomorrow knowing that victory could put
them into an uncatchable position at the top of the table.
Second placed Gloucester City are at home to Hastings United. If they lose and Borough
win, then Brendan Phillips side are virtually home and dry.
With six games to play they would be eighteen points ahead of Gloucester. Borough would
need to lose their last six games and Gloucester would need to win all their games for the
two clubs to finish level on points.
Nuneatons manager Phillips displays all his usual caution however.
"We are looking at winning our next two or three games. I will be happy if we can
get seven points from our last seven matches.
"We are nearly there but I am taking nothing for granted. Ilkeston Town will not
be easy to get past. They are a strong all round team who place emphasis on the physical
side of the game and we will need to be at our best."
Borough will be without Kevin Wilkins for the remainder of the season. The knee on
which he underwent a cruciate ligament operation again troubles the winger.
