The Conference looms ever closer to Nuneaton Borough as they take
on lower mid-table Cambridge City at the Manor Park Ground tomorrow.
League football is always likened to a marathon race and if it was athletics Borough
would now be entering the stadium with their opponents a couple of miles adrift still
pounding through the streets.
They have a massive sixteen points lead at the top with thirteen matches to play and
look like being crowned champions long before the season enters its final weeks.
That means Conference football at Manor Park next season, just one league away from the
Football League
Manager Brendan Phillips refuses to count any chickens and confines himself to the
masterly understatement:
"We have a full squad for the match against Cambridge and hope to pick up three
points."
But Borough will be brim full of confidence after winning at Dorchester last weekend
and in the knowledge that they forced a draw at Cambridge earlier in the season.
