Flu-hit Nuneaton Borough crashed on New Years Day. They had
to concede that they were deservedly beaten by the relegation threatened Halesowen side.
The virus had rampaged through several players and club officials and to add to their
troubles goalkeeper Riichard Williams was sent off near the end of this match.
Borough went into the match with a thumping 16 points lead at the top of the table and
that margin stayed unchanged as the chasing pack failed to take advantage of their slip
up.
With seventeen matches left to play, it looks increasingly likely that Nuneaton will
not be caught.
Former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa midfielder Paul Birch gave Halesowen an
early lead and Evran Wright ended it with a last minute goal.
