Nuneaton Borough are anxious to get back to winning ways
tomorrow, but they face one of their toughest matches of the season away to fifth placed
Hastings United.
Borough need to prove to themselves and the other teams chasing them at the top of the
league that they have not let things slip after their wondrous start to the season.
Their opening six victories in a row established them firmly at the top of the Dr
Marten's Premier Division and they have a ten points cushion over second placed Gresley
Rovers, but manager Brendan Phillips knows that once results begin to slip it can become a
landslide.
Borough drew their last league match at home to mid-table Boston United and then lost
to their local rivals Atherstone United in the first leg of the Dr Marten's League Cup on
Monday.
Only once before have they registered a draw-defeat sequence and that was last month
when they bounced back with eight goals in two games against Bromsgrove and Weymouth.
They travel to Hastings without their inspirational captain Dave Crowley who damaged
his knee ligaments against Atherstone.
