The league leaders Nuneaton Borough are at home to Boston United
on Saturday, determined not to let slip their 8 points cushion at the top.
Borough have played two matches more than second placed Gresley Rovers and they do not
want them, or third place Hastings United to narrow the gap.
But manager Brendan Phillips says Boston will be "a toughie" even though his
side won 3-2 at Boston in August when Borough were in their magnificent run of six
successive victories.
He is pleased that striker Anton Thomas appears to be ready to start after his long lay
off with a hamstring injury and Dickie Gardner is also fit again. Rob Straw is another who
returns to strengthen the team.
If Borough win, it will be their third victory in a row and will set them up for the
first leg of Monday's Dr Marten's Cup against their big local rivals Atherstone United at
Sheepy Road. The two sides drew 0-0 at Sheepy Road in the FA Cup last month and Borough
won the replay 3-0.
But the Dr Marten's Cup is played over two legs and will need different tactics.
Atherstone are currently lying fourth in the league and will be keen to test themselves
again against the old enemy.
