Brendan Phillips, manager of table topping Nuneaton Borough,
hopes to add a couple of players to his squad over the weekend.
Phillips, whose side has been hit by injuries in recent weeks, said:
"I am looking at bringing in a couple of players and I hope something will be
finalised over the weekend. I can't say any more about it than that."
Borough will travel to play Bromsgrove on Saturday minus their goalkeeper Richard
Williams who has still not recovered from the neck injury which forced him out of last
weekend's FA Cup tie at Burton Albion.
"It was a bad injury," said Phillips. "He suffered a whiplash effect and
was unconscious for three or four minutes. I feared the worst and he had to be taken to
hospital. But he is recovered well although he will be off work for ten days at
least."
It means that Phillips will call up Robbie Wood to play in goal at Bromsgrove, but the
manager said:
"I have no worries on that score. Robbie played in goal a few times last season
and did well."
Phillips is also hopeful that either striker Anton Thomas or defender Richard Gardener
will be able to play on Saturday. Both have been out injured with hamstring injuries.
