Atherstone United lost
their goalkeeper and a three-goal lead in their Dr Marten's League match at home to
Ilkeston Town. The match ended 3-3.
Atherstone skated into a 3-0 lead after just 17 minutes and looked to be home and dry.
Ex-Nuneaton Borough striker Paul White snatched two goals in 90 seconds and veteran
goal poacher Kim Green added a third.
But then midway through the first half the 'Adders' goalkeeper Craig Glover was shown
the red card for racing out of his area to handle Moore's goal-bound shot.
Green went in goal and Ilkeston pulled a goal back almost immediately through Ball's
header.
Green then conceded a penalty a few minutes later which Knapper converted and it was
3-2 at half-time. Another penalty was conceded in the 54th minute and Knapper
again shot home to complete a disappointing night for Atherstone.
