West Midlands Euro MP
Christine Oddy will visit Bass Brewery and Bass Museum today as part of her active
involvement with the European Parliament's Beer Club.
Christine Oddy has a particular interest in visiting the Bass Museum as her father
Eric, who will be accompanying her, joined the Staffordshire Yeomanry C Squadron in 1942
and all his fellow soldiers were from Burton and worked in the brewery. Father Eric is
keen to look up the Colonel of the regiment, Colonel Eadie, he remembers as Managing
Director of Bass.
Ms Oddy said:
"It will be very interesting to visit Bass and the Bass Museum as I have heard so
much about it from my father. I am a keen participant at the European Parliament Beer
evenings which are always excellent and I like to support British beer which is very
varied and tasty compared with some European beers."
