Euro MP Christine Oddy
will take a look at progress on one of the biggest industrial and commercial developments
in her Coventry and North Warwickshire constituency today when she visits Hams Hall.
Formerly the site of three power stations, Hams Hall, near Coleshill, is rapidly being
transformed into a major freight and distribution centre for the region which has already
created more than 1,000 jobs with the prospect of several thousand more when completed. It
will also be the home of a new engine plant for BMW, owner of the Rover car company, which
is currently under construction.
Ms Oddy's guides for the visit will be North Warwickshire Councills Chief Planning
Officer, Mr Dave Atkins, and the Economic Development Officer, Ms Hilary Goodreid.
Ms Oddy said:
"Hams Hall is playing a major role in bringing new jobs to North Warwickshire
which has suffered in recent years through the rundown of the coal industry and I am
looking forward to seeing the progress which has been made since my last visit."
