MP Christine Oddy will be in Nuneaton on Friday (22 January) for the official opening of
the newly refurbished Hatter's Space Centre.
The Centre in Upper Abbey Street will provide opportunities for education, training,
health and leisure for people living in the Abbey and Chilvers Coton areas of the town.
The project has been financed by Warwickshire and Nuneaton and Bedworth Councils with
£138,000 support from the European Union's RECHAR 11 Programme, which aims to revitalise
former mining communities.
Among other facilities it will offer a Cyber Cafe, where people will be able to 'surf
the web', meeting rooms for local organisations, an information shop offering advice on
health, housing and education for young people, and a crèche.
Ms Oddy said:
"Hatter's Space is positive proof of how the European Union is working in
partnership with local government to benefit the people of Nuneaton."
