Euro MP Christine Oddy is set to take part in the celebrations to mark the
launch of Jaguar's new S-Type car which was designed and developed in her Coventry and
North Warwickshire constituency.
She will be a guest of Jaguar' s Chairman and Chief Executive Nick Scheele when the car
is officially launched at the Birmingham International Motor Show on Tuesday (20 October).
The car, to be built at Jaguar's Castle Bromwich plant in Birmingham, will go on sale
in March next year.
The night before the launch Ms Oddy will attend a reception and dinner which the
company is holding at its newly completed visitor and Heritage Centre.
The dinner will be attended by senior executives from the firm and its parent company,
Ford, leaders of the West Midlands business community, personalities from the world of
sport and entertainment and hundreds of media representatives from throughout the world.
Ms Oddy said:
"Jaguar is one of the leading employers in my constituency with so many jobs
hinging on its continued prosperity. Like everyone else I will be keeping my fingers
crossed that the new S-Type is a great success, both at home and abroad."
