Students To Get A European ViewAmerican students attending
a summer school in Oxford will get a European perspective when Coventry and North
Warwickshire Euro MP Christine Oddy addresses them on Friday (17 July).
Ms Oddy will give the group an outline of
how the European Parliament and the other institutions of the European union work as well
as discussing her own role as one of the United Kingdom's 87 MEPS.
The students, who have all just left high
school, are spending three weeks in Britain prior to going to university. During their
stay they will visit the Houses of Parliament and look at subjects of recent history such
as the Second World War and the Cold War.
Ms Oddy said:
"This is a good way of fostering relations between the
two countries and enhancing the students' sense of internationalism"
