MAR 01] SHAKESPEARE BIRTHPLACE TRUST NEWS
Mary Arden's House Re-opens To Visitors
Popular
tourist venue Mary Arden's House is to be re-opened following its
closure because of the foot and mouth crisis.
The
house, which is on the edge of Stratford, will re-open to the
public on Saturday.
Some
parts of the complex, such as the field walk, will remain closed
and the farm animals will not be on show.
The
Shakespeare Birthplace Trust closed the house at the end of
February as a precaution when the foot and mouth outbreak hit the
county.
Visitors
will be asked to walk over disinfectant mats and all car wheels
will be disinfected.
The
situation is being closely monitored and the Trust has plans in
place should the outbreak spread to the local area.
The
other houses cared for by the Trust, Shakespeare's Birthplace,
Anne Hathaway's Cottage, Hall's Croft and Nash's House & New
Place have been unaffected and remain open for business as usual.
