Glamour Girls To
Pose In Coventry Club
A
Coventry nightspot has been chosen to host a major modelling
competition in an attempt to discover the new Kate Moss or Cindy
Crawford.
London-based
Rugby News magazine is running the contest to find the Sports Model
of the Year, and will hold one of the UK's 10 heats at SkyDome's
Ikon Superclub.
The
eventual winner of the competition, which is being covered by Sky
Sports television, will receive £10,000 and take part in
Australia's Sports Model of the Year awards.
The
Coventry heats will take place on the 23 and 30 March as well as
April 6 and SkyDome manager Ian Knight is expecting three memorable
evenings.
He
said:
"We
are one of ten clubs up and down the UK who have been chosen to
host this event and I am sure the organisers were looking for high
profile venues to host such an internationally recognised
competition.
"Ikon
has played host to a string of top names since opening and has
gained a reputation across the country as a top nightspot - I
believe that is why it has been selected for this.
"It
would be very nice if one of the contestants who competes at
SkyDome goes on to actually win it and become the next household
modelling name."
A
spokesman for Rugby News magazine said the competition aimed to give
the lucky winner a launchpad to fame.
He
said:
"Each
regional venue will have two girls who go forward to the grand
final at Shoeless Joe's in London.
"The
winner will be the star of a Sky Sports Production, and feature in
several magazine articles - she will be the new modelling toast of
the UK."
