Rod
Stewart And Tina Turner In City Face-off
A
Coventry entertainment venue has stepped into a family row over
which member of a husband and wife couple is 'Simply the Best'.
Jumpin
Jaks booked Gerry Trew, a Rod Stewart tribute, and Tina Turner act
Nova Casper to appear in February without realising the two were
married.
The
Barnsley-based couple appear all over the country as sound-a-likes
of the chart-toppers and are amongst the most highly rated singers
on the circuit.
Jaks
manager Andrew MacLeod admitted that he was surprised to hear they
were married but believes it will give staff and customers scope for
fun.
He
said:
"We
were thinking of getting our entertainment manager CJ to get a
cheerometer set up to see which one of the couple is rated the
highest by Coventry party-goers.
"We
don't want to cause any domestics and hopefully the result won't
leave one of the peroxide blonde wigs residing in the spare
bedroom!"
Mr
Trew, who has been performing as Rod Stewart for several years,
revealed that the couple are often the subject of jokes about what
dinner must be like in their house.
He
said:
"People
imagine that Rod Stewart and Tina Turner would be one of the most
fiery combinations in real life so they think that is what our
relationship is like.
"I
have been asked whether we perform on alternate nights so we can
share the same wig - its all good fun."
The
Rod Stewart show will be held on Wednesday 7 February with Nova
Casper appearing as Tina Turner on 28 February.
