Coventry kids can chill
out during their holidays while skating away to some top tunes
from Grease at the SkyDome Arena.
A unique show is being
held next month when the audience takes to the ice, but the
performers stay on the stage at the 4,000 seater venue on 15
August.
Visitors to the SkyDome
Arena will be treated to the stage show 'Summer Lovin', which
includes a repertoire of songs from the hit musical Grease, as
well as a series of competitions and give-aways.
John Travolta
look-a-like Martin Harvey is coming to Coventry for the event
and arena manager Simon Burnett admitted he was delighted to
have secured his services.
He said:
"The ice-skating
facilities at the Arena have been extremely popular since we
have opened and we are also close to being able to announce a
host of concert line-ups.
"This will be a
combination of the two as there will be stage shows on whilst
people are skating - there is no other venue in the country
that could do that.
"People can come
along and soak up the atmosphere and entertainment as they
skate or come and take a seat in the stands and join in the
fun.
"Martin Harvey
usually works at a top live entertainment venue in Swansea and
has gained a great reputation in the industry.
Summer Lovin will run
from 2pm to 6pm and entry will be on a pay-on-the-day basis.
Partygoers will be given
the chance to win top prizes throughout the day, and will also
be able to take advantage of a host of food and drink
promotions.
