SkyDome Coventry, which houses two nightclubs, a live entertainment
venue, a cocktail bar and a nine screen cinema, has reached the
quarter of a million mark in just 12 weeks since opening.
Lucky Leamington couple Steve Looney and Justine Ward were
officially registered as the 250,000th customers at the
complex when they visited the Jumpin Jaks live entertainment bar.
They were given VIP passes for the remainder of the night, a bottle
of bubbly and complimentary tickets for a return visit.
Looney, 24, from Clarendon Avenue, Leamington, admitted he and
girlfriend Justine, 30, were shocked when they were taken to one side
after reaching the entrance.
He said:
"We know Jaks gets really busy so we had arrived early, but
I still thought they were going to tell us it was full.
"When they said we were the complex’s 250,000th
customers and gave us the champagne and tickets we could not believe
our luck.
"We were going to the Ikon nightclub after we had been in
Jaks anyway, but we were given access all areas passes and I think
people wondered who we were when they saw us drinking champagne in
the VIP lounge!"
SkyDome general manager Ian Knight is delighted at the success the
complex has seen since opening, and believes the venue appeals to
everybody.
He said:
"To have attracted a quarter of a million people since 22
October shows the reputation that SkyDome has built up in a short
space of time, and we are overjoyed with that.
"The reason our figures are so high is that whatever people
have in mind for a night-out they can do it at SkyDome.
"Whether it be a sing-song in Jaks, clubbing in Ikon/Diva or
a quiet drink in Bonds it is all on one site."
