Tickets Go On Sale For Jazz Festival

Tickets go on sale next week for two of the biggest star concerts in August's Coventry’s  Jazz Festival.

The Belgrade box office will be selling tickets for a concert by piano legend McCoy Tyner at the theatre on Sunday 27 August  at 7.45pm. Prices are £17 and £15, with £2 reduction for concessions.

The night before, Saturday 26 August, sees sax star Andy Sheppard at the theatre at 7.45pm.  Tickets are £10 (£2 reduction for concessions).

Appearing later that night at 10pm in Falstaffs restaurant is the Mark Ramsden and Dave Cliff quartet, with tickets at £6, (£5 concessions).

Sheppard, currently Britain’s biggest selling jazz artist, and Tyner, who played with the great John Coltrane in the 1960s are the first two artists confirmed for the five-day festival, which takes place at different venues in the city centre from 24 August to 28 August.

For the second year the festival is being co-ordinated by Coventry and Warwickshire Promotions working with local jazz promoters.

Highlights of the 1999 festival included Georgie Fame and organist Jimmy Smith.
