AND WARWICKSHIRE PROMOTIONS NEWS
Conferences To Be Wooed To Area
The
flag will be flown for Coventry and Warwickshire in Switzerland next
week to attract more conference business to the area.
Coventry
and Warwickshire Promotions, the independent company set up to promote
the city and its surrounding region will be taking a stand at one of
the world’s biggest conference and meetings shows.
They
will be showing off the facilities the city has to offer at the
three-day European Incentive and Business Travel & Meetings
Exhibition in Geneva from 23-25 May.
The
company will be joined at EIBTM by partners Warwick Conferences, the
business meetings arm of Warwick University, and British Airways
operator Maersk Air Ltd.
Maersk
Air launched a new service between Birmingham and Geneva last year.
Warwick
Conferences, already one of Britain’s top university conference and
meetings businesses, is seeking to raise its global profile.
Appointments
have been booked with groups and individual conference buyers from the
United States, Germany, France, Hungary and the UK, all of whom have
expressed an interest in what Coventry and Warwickshire have to offer.
Penny
Tyler, Sales Manager for Coventry and Warwickshire Promotions, said:
“We
need to be in Geneva to flag up our interest in getting
international business.
“We
attended EIBTM for the first time last year and made some good
contacts and now our aim is to put Coventry and Warwickshire on the
map as a destination for international conferences and travel.”
