The
main entertainments will take place on the stage over the fountain in
the Precinct and around Broadgate and the Cathedral Quarter.
The major spectacle of the evening - Ramon Kelvink's high wire walk
between the spires of Holy Trinity church and St Michaels, the old
Cathedral - will be televised live on BBC at around 9.20pm.
The events in Broadgate, and hopefully weather and visibility
permitting, the Ramon Kelvink's walk will be broadcast on the Internet
from CWN's live webcam.

BROADGATE & THE CATHEDRAL QUARTER
Ramon Kelvink will give three
shows. At 5.45pm he will perform atop an oscillating pole 27m above
Broadgate - a feat he will repeat at 11.45pm on a 50m pole.
In between will be the centrepiece of the evening's celebrations
when Ramon will make a daring 80m walk, 45m above the ground, between
the spires of Holy Trinity and St Michaels, the old cathedral. This
will take place at 9.20pm and be broadcast live on BBC television.
Before and between these daring exhibitions Broadgate will host a Family
Variety Show with acts including:
- Slim & Slam - comperes
- Wolly - a Coventry clown
with his slackrope act
- Ensemble Hegedus - folk
music from the twin city of Kecskemet
- Dave Southall - Blondin,
Master of Niagra
- John Teasdale - comedy
juggling
- De Ramos' - dare devil duo
from Brazil
- Black Eagles - acrobatics
from Tanzania
- Drumalicious - rhythms of
the world
- Rhythm Doctors Street Band
Performances will be from 2pm to 5.30pm, and then again from 7pm to
9.20pm.
Entertaining the crowds in Broadgate from 10pm will be Kix96's top
DJ Chris Brooks.
After the chimes of midnight there will be a spectacular firework
display before DJ Keesh
and DJ Abtar play world dance
music into the early hours.
Completing the entertainment will be walkabout acts from 12noon to
6pm and giant video screens from 4pm to 3am.
