Architechs Turn On The Gas
A
Rugby nightspot has turned to The Architechs to work on its DJ box -
and is expecting crowds will flock to watch them in action.
Gas
Street nightclub has landed a date with the '2 step' music stars this
Friday to celebrate a year since the completed refurbishment of the
club.
The
Architechs began as an underground operation but smashed onto the
mainstream music scene last Autumn with top ten hit 'Body Groove' - a
tune that was embraced by top DJs including Radio One's Trevor Nelson.
And
Rugby clubbers will be amongst the first in the country to hear them
perform their newly released single 'Show Me The Money' which hit the
streets yesterday.
Leading
music figures such as Craig David have tipped The Architechs to be
amongst this year's biggest names, and Gas Street manager Darren Smith
believes their appearance in Rugby is a huge coup for the town.
He
said:
"The
Architechs are quite rightly credited for bringing garage music to a
wider audience because of the universal appeal of tracks like Body
Groove.
"Their
new single is tipped to be a very big hit, so to have them
performing at Gas Street less than five days after its launch is
phenomenal.
"The
interest we have had since announcing that they would be appearing
here is testament to how widely respected they are.
"We
aim to bring big name entertainment to Rugby to help boost the
town's night time economy and this is another sign of success in
that regard.
"Mainstream
garage music now has a wide audience and we feel that an act of this
size who are riding the crest of a wave is a fitting way to
celebrate a year since the mayor cut the ribbon and opened the club
after a £1 million refurbishment."
To
complete the celebrations Gas Street will hold a 'Heroes and Villains'
night on Saturday, with clubbers invited to attend in fancy dress.
