The Rugby
Lions today announced the launch of two Colts sides for the forthcoming season as part of
their senior squad development programme.
The Colts will be split into two categories: Junior Colts for under 17 years, and
Senior Colts for under 19 years. Heading up the coaching for the Colts will be Rob
Burdett, a recent Lions player and Dean Watson both of whom are qualified RFU
coaches.
Dave Pope will head up the Management team for the Junior side with an announcement
soon to come regarding the Senior side.
A club spokeswoman said today
"The Colts will play their fixtures when ever possible on Saturdays as
curtain raisers ahead of our main first team premier league games. It is the aim of the
club to bring the Colts closer to the first team not only on match days but also training
nights where they will be training with the first team for all next season."
If anyone is interesting in learning more they are invited to the Rugby Lions club at
Webb Ellis Road for a meeting on Monday 17 May which kicks off at 7pm. Parents welcome.
