A row between Coventry RFC and
their player of the year Lee Crofts has been resolved, and the player
is no longer set to leave the club.
The flanker had stunned the
club by threatening to move on because of a dispute.
Rugby administrator Ian
Carvell said:
"We have resolved our
differences, and Lee will be back in a Coventry shirt next season.
"We are all delighted
it is sorted out. Our supporters are particularly pleased.
“I know Lee just wants to
get on with his career and rugby, and put all this behind him.
“Occasionally in rugby,
these things happen, and we are delighted everything has now been
resolved."
Club chairman Keith
Fairbrother added:
"There was a
misunderstanding between Lee and myself, which has now been resolved
to our mutual satisfaction.
“Lee is a great player, a
Coventry kid and that's what we want to see in a Coventry shirt. We
are all looking forward to next season, and know our supporters will
be behind us.
“Lee is very much a part
of the team, and just wants to get on with his rugby again."
Lee added:
"I
am just happy that I can get on with playing rugby, as I am now
looking forward to pre-season training, and the first friendly
fixture against Ulster at Coundon Road on 11 August."
