[17
FEB 01] COVENTRY BLAZE MATCH REPORT
Peterborough
Pirates 2
Coventry Blaze 3
Captain
Steve Chartrand bagged two assists on his return from a 15 game
injury lay-off as a last minute goal gave Coventry Blaze their fifth
win in nine attempts against Peterborough Pirates this season.
Blaze
out-shot their hosts in all three periods, and had to come from 2-1
behind to win the game.
In
the opening period, Hilton Ruggles and Todd Markus traded powerplay
goals to leave it 1-1 by the first break.
Period
two saw two further powerplay markers, as Dwayne Newman put
Peterborough ahead only to see Mike Shewan level matters.
The
game looked to be heading into overtime, but Stephen Cooper fired
home with just 27 seconds left on the clock for his fifth goal in
eight league games since joining the club.
