Blaze Continues Their Canadian Affair
The
Coventry Blaze ice hockey team's first season in their new Skydome
home is to get off to a flying start after a new sponsorship deal was
signed.
London-based
travel company, Canadian Affair, have signed up for their second year
with the Blaze, who have moved from Solihull for the new season.
The
low-cost firm will once again be taking care of all the travel
arrangements to bring the team's Canadian based players into the UK at
the start of the season and for getting them back home at the end of
the campaign.
The
news is a major boost for the Blaze ahead of the forthcoming British
National League season and follows sponsorship deals with Hilton
Hotels, Reynolds Press Printers, Go Magazine and Exmedia
Blaze
Director Andy Buxton was delighted that Canadian Affair have agreed to
continue their association with the team.
He
said:
"Obviously
this is great news for the Blaze.
“The
cost of flying our Canadian based players in and out of the UK would
represent a big expense for our organisation so it's tremendous that
Canadian Affair will be taking care of all of this for us again.
“They
were great to work with last season and managed to take care of some
tricky scheduling to get all of our players to and from the right
places at the right times.
"We
know that a number of our supporters and now other British hockey
teams have recently started using Canadian Affair so it's obvious
that the partnership is good for both organisations.
"It's
going to be a challenging first season for us in our new home but
working with professionals like Canadian Affair helps us to ensure
that everything goes smoothly.”
Canadian
Affair's General Manager, Peter Mizzi was equally enthusiastic about
the extension to the relationship.
He
said:
"We
really enjoyed our first year working with the Blaze organisation
and there is no doubt that they gave us an excellent opportunity to
significantly increase our profile in British ice hockey.
"A
large number of British ice hockey fans go over to North America to
watch the sport played at its highest level so with travel to Canada
being our specialised area, working with the Blaze is a perfect fit.
"It's
an exciting season for the Blaze with their move to the Skydome and
we are pleased to be able to support them once again."
As
part of the arrangement, the Canadian Affair logo will feature on the
new Blaze playing strip for the coming season and the Blaze website
will carry a direct link through to that of Canadian Affair.
