VS Rugby go into their home clash with top of the table Clevedon
knowing that places in the side to play Corby in the Midland Floodlit Cup are at stake.
Whoever triumphs on Wednesday night will reach the final and there are still positions
manager Martin Sockett has yet to sort out.
"We lost 5-1 down at Clevedon earlier in the season but seven who played that day
are no longer with the club and of the four who remain, only two are regulars.
"We have not done as well of late but we have been creating the chances. We lost
2-0 at Weston on Saturday but we should have won it. We couldnt even finish a bag of
crisps at the moment, never mind a good move on a football field!
"They had three shots all game and two of the ones from 20-yards plus managed to
find their way into the net. We had a lot of chances but didnt take them.
"It is very hard to legislate for individual players missing opportunites.
"Wednesday nights game is effectively a semi-final and is our only chance of
winning silverware this season so it is very important that we do well and come through
our group."
