VS Rugby manager Martin Sockett can put away his boots this
weekend after an unscheduled stint as a sub over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Thirty-nine-year-old Sockett, who regularly turns out for the clubs highly
successful veterans side, was forced on to the bench for Mondays defeat at
Stamford but is hoping to have most of his injured and unavailable players back for the
visit of Evesham.
He has two main injury worries. Danny Green hurt his ankle in the warm-up for
Mondays match is and 50-50 while striker Brian Agar took a bang on the knee in
Saturdays game and missed the 2-1 defeat at Stamford.
Sockett said:
"Evesham are a good side and they are going very well. We lost 3-1 to them at
their place but we felt that scoreline really flattered them that day and we have to look
to put that right.
"We want to pick up as many points as we possibly can before the end of the
season. We have had a good run ourselves and it is imperative we keep that going.
"We were unlucky on Monday when we played very poorly but then picked up in the
second half and could have got a point in the end."
