VS were held to a draw in a thrilling climax to this match in
pouring rain at Butlin Road.
Ian Scott equalised for Rugby in the last minute and then in injury time Solihill
missed a penalty.
Joe Dowling was the guilty man for Solihull, blasting the spot kick over the crossbar
in the final few seconds after Paul John handled.
VS had a dream start when Brian Agar took advantage of a mix up in Solihull's defence
to knock the ball into the net after onmly thirteen seconds.
Solihull were level at half-time however through Martin Myers' shot in the 39th minute.
The second half fizzed with excitement when Paul John headed Rugby in front in the 49th
minute only for Myers to thunder home his second equaliser in the 68th minute.
Dowling put Solihull ahead for the first time with a superbly struck free kick in the
73rd minute but in the final minutes Ian Scott made it 3-3 when he swept home Ashley
Warner's pass.
