VS Rugby manager Martin Sockett has suffered another blow before
the crucial Dr Martens League game at Evesham on Saturday.
Sockett, whose side are on a dismal run and who has been without several leading
players, will have to do without striker Ashley Warner who is unavailable.
But while Warner, who tops the scoring charts at VS misses the game, Ian Scott returns
up front and is set to take his place.
He said:
"Ashleys unavailability is something we could really do without but we will
just have to get on with it and Ians return is good news. Jamie Lenton is also back
after missing the home defeat against Blackenhall and he will be in contention.
"The injuries seem to be picking up now and hopefully as the Christmas campaign
progresses I will start to decide who plays rather than injuries dictating the side."
Evesham are just two points above VS and have played the same games, so it is vital
that Socketts side manage to take something from the game.
"I would rather not have such vital games at this time of year because it shows we
are not where we would like to be in the league. On the right day any side is capable of
beating any other in this league, we have to make sure we prepare probably and if we get
that win then we can start to build the confidence."
