VS Rugby boss Martin
Sockett is seething after finding out a club is trying to poach striker Ian Scott.
A club from the Premier Division actually called Scott in the Hinckley clubhouse after
VS had won a point against the Leicestershire side in midweek.
Sockett said:
"We have had lots of clubs put in seven days notice to talk to players but not in
this case. Once I find out who is responsible then I will discuss the matter with my
directors and we will decide what action to take."
To make matters worse, VS Rugby have an injury crisis on their hands as they prepare to
entertain Western Super Mare on Saturday.
Five players are struggling to recover after the 1-1 draw at Hinckley in midweek and
Sockett will leave selection as late as possible to give them every chance of making the
fixture.
Defender Kieren Sullivan is the biggest doubt with a hamstring problem but midfielders
Simon Mason (back) and Gary Smith (calf) and strikers Matty Owen (calf) and Ian Scott
(groin) are also struggling to be fit.
Socket added:
"We thought we were very unlucky in midweek. We went a goal up when Ashley Warner
scored. He has got something like five in five games and is on a good run. That said, he
and others had more chances and really we should have finished them off.
"They scored with a penalty, which I thought was very harsh and then Lee Harriman
was brought down and the referee waved play on it was incredible."
