Warwicks squad will have a bigger incentive than usual to impress against Stafford
at home on Saturday their new manager could just be watching.
Caretaker boss Keith Billington has revealed that the short-listed candidates for the
job he is about to vacate will be at the game running their eye over the players.
Billington, who stepped in to help out when Martin Bewell decided to pack the job in,
has only three games before he quits.
"No decision has been made but that could well come next week. I know that the
candidates who have made it through to the shortlist will be there so that should fire the
players up.
"There was nothing wrong with their spirit when we played Solihull in midweek. We
lost 3-2 away from home but came back from three down and quite easily could have scored
an equaliser.
"The players know that pride and a place in the side next season are keeping them
playing at the maximum and that is just how it should be."
Matt Tovey and John Paul Turpin were on the mark at Solihull and they should both be in
a side which could be missing midfielder Richard Wade and defender Nick McFarlane who are
both injured.
