Bedworth Uniteds players will not get paid this week
because of their poor performance against Blakenall last weekend.
The players accepted manager Billy Hollywoods bet of forfeiting one weeks
wages if their performance was as bad as against Shepshed in the previous match.
"I gave them the chance to pull out of the bet," says Hollywood. "I
asked them not once but three or four times in front of witnesses. A bet is a bet and I
won it.
"The judge of their performance was a neutral person and at the end of the match I
told the players that I thought I had won. No one argued the point. The players will not
paid for this week."
Hollywood will now make changes for tomorrows home match against Moor Green to
try and spark some life into his side.
"I watched the reserves beat Nuneaton Borough Reserves 4-1 this week and
thoroughly enjoyed the game. There was a lot of pride in the performance and four of
Saturdays first team played in that match. I have to ask why the difference in level
of performance."
Hollywood will give a debut against Moor Green to Scottish midfielder Barry Moredue, an
ex-Alloa and Hamilton Academicals player.
