Bedworth bounced back with an away victory after their
disappointing defeat by Stafford Rangers on New Years Day.
United could have been three-up before half-time against Stafford. Christy McKenzie and
Paul OBrien hit the woodwork and Robbie Beard missed a penalty kick.
They paid the price because Rangers scored twice in the second half.
But United made the trip to Lincolnshire on Saturday and made up for it. Lee Darlison
scored both goals before half-time, one of them from the penalty spot.
Darlison was in magnificent form. Early on he tried a lob which almost beat the
goalkeeper and then he later fired a tremendous effort against the crossbar.
He finally scored in the 28th minute in bizarre fashion when his corner kick
curled over the goalkeeper and into the far corner of the net.
Darlison was on the scoresheet again in the last minute of the first half when Paul
Corden was bowled over and the winger stepped up to slot home the penalty kick.
The second half was a scrappy affair and Stamford reduced the arrears when David Staff
scored with the last kick of the match.
