Bedworth took a proud unbeaten run into the match, but it was
shattered by a 73rd minute goal from the Welsh club.
But United made the promotion chasers fight all the way for their rewards and felt they
deserved at least one point from the encounter.
Paul O’Brien and Robbie Beard both forced Newport’s goalkeeper to makes first
half saves, while O’Brien cleared off United’s goal line at the other end.
Bedworth produced a superb attacking spell in the second half when Jai Stanley had an
effort cleared off the line and Paul Corden went close on a couple of occasions.
The decider came when Mike Flynn drove his skimming shot past the diving Bedworth
goalkeeper Craig Glover.
