[DR MARTEN'S LEAGUE MIDLAND DIVISION]The fifth meeting of the
season and the fourth in November between these teams ended emphatically in Bedworth's
favour.
VS have not beaten United this season and this result made
it three defeats and two draws against their local rivals.
Bedworth secured only their second home league win of the
season even though they had midfielder Paul Bedder sent off twenty minutes from time.
United scored a goal in each half, taking the lead in the
36th minute when Christy McKenzie stooped to head in Lee Darlison's inch-perfect cross.
VS had their moments in the second half but Bedworth's
goalkeeper Craig Glover saved from Ashley Warner and Ian Scott.
When Bedder was shown the red card VS must have hoped to
come away with their first win over Bedworth, but with nine minutes left Paul Corden
scored a great goal to clinch the points.
He set off on a run which took him past three defenders
before producing the perfect finish from just inside the penalty area.
