Bedworth United made it
five matches without defeat to continue their slow but sure climb from the bottom end of
the table.
Chances fell to both sides in a busy first half and United's Christy McKenzie thundered
a header against the crossbar, but the only goal of the half came from a neat move between
Paul Corden and Lee Darlison with the latter rifling home his shot.
The goal boosted Bedworth's confidence and they bossed the second half. They increased
their lead in the 58th minute when Corden outfought several defenders before knocking the
ball to Andy Dale who crashed home a fierce shot from 25 yards.
After 62 minutes Robbie Beard raced on to goalkeeper Craig Glover's huge clearance kick
to beat the Stamford goalkeeper with a cheeky lob.
David Norris scored for Stamford near the end but their no denting Bedworth's fine
performance.
