Atherstone slipped three places to twelfth after tossing away the
points against Tamworth.
Their inability to find the net in recent games, has left their defence with too much
to handle. They have managed only three goals in their last six league matches and a
goalscorer must be a top priority for manager Ron Bradbury.
They had a lot of possession against Tamworth but once they fell behind they were
struggling to find a goal to earn a point. They had enough chances to have won the game
comfortably, but in the end it was a first half injury time goal which settled it.
Warren Haughton fired a shot against Atherstones crossbar and it was cleared for
a corner-kick. From the flag kick the ball again reached Haughton and this time he struck
the ball into the net.
United nearly conceded again in the 67th minute but Hallams header rebounded from
the upright.
