Atherstone saw progress in the Birmingham Senior Cup whipped from
their grasp as the home sides late surge gave them victory.
Ron Bradburys men took the lead in first half stoppage time when Paul White, who
had gone close early on, weaved his way into the area before managing to slip the ball to
Danny Martin who shot in low.
Adders could have tied the game up just seconds after the interval when Craig Dean let
fly with a 22-yard pile driver which hit the post.
But it was not all one sided and at the other end Atherstone were also saved by the
woodwork when a shot from Mick McGrath also struck a post.
Adders were still looking set to go through when Paget pulled level with 15 minutes
left Wayne Crook heading in past Dale Belford.
Then, just over a minute later, substitute Steve Walker converted a cross from former
Adders man Shaun Marchant. The home side had a man sent off for two bookings, but it came
too late to give Adders a real chance of a comeback.
