[DR MARTENS LEAGUE PREMIER
DIVISION]Atherstone
took an early lead but could not hold the powerful home team and found themselves on the
end of a 3-1 defeat.
United were in front in the 6th minute when Paul White
sprinted down the right flank to deliver a low cross which Kim Green rammed home from
close range.
But United then found themselves forced back and they
conceded an equaliser when Ben Sweet's low cross found Ben Galliers at the far post and he
steered the ball home past Dale Belford.
United found themselves in deeper trouble in a one sided
second half. They fell behind in the 56th minute when Ian Brown squared the ball for Sweet
to score and the third followed ten minutes later when Brian Lilligan headed down a free
kick for Brown to convert.
