United's manager Ron
Bradbury feared his side would be affected by their midweek FA Cup defeat at Nuneaton
Borough, but his players produced a solid performance to earn a good point against the
fifth placed side.
Atherstone could have gone in front in the first half but the lively Kim Green straight
weakly at the goalkeeper. After that it was all Gloucester as they pounded away at
United's defence.
But they found Atherstone's goalkeeper Dale Belford in great form. He clawed a header
off the line from Andy Hoskins and then saved with his legs from another effort by City's
striker.
United were under fierce pressure in the closing minutes but held firm for the point
which keeps them in eighth place.
