Atherstone
United, conquered by Nuneaton Borough in the midweek FA Cup replay face a tough match away
to Gloucester City in the league.
"Gloucester are fourth in the league and they are always a tough side to
overcome," says United's manager Ron Bradbury.
"In my experience teams can sometimes take two or three games to regain their best
form after a Cup defeat. I am hoping we can get it out of our system quicker than
that."
Bradbury blames himself for the size of Atherstone's Cup defeat at Borough.
"We were only 1-0 down with fifteen minutes to go when I pulled off a defender and
sent on another striker," he says.
"We went on to lose 3-0 and it could have been more. But I felt at that stage it
was no good looking back on a well-fought 1-0 defeat. We had to try to win it. It is a
knock out competition and you have to be brave enough to try to win. It was my decision
and it did not work out. That's life as a football manager."
