Warwickshire
County Cricket Club is pleased to announce that former South African team coach, Bob
Woolmer has signed a three-year contract to return to Edgbaston as Director of Coaching
from January 2000.
The Club are delighted to welcome Bob back to Edgbaston after his most successful
period with the South African international team, which has seen them become one of the
strongest sides in world cricket.
Bob has previously occupied the role of Director of Coaching for four years, between
1991 and 1994, during which time the Club enjoyed the most successful period in its
history, winning the NatWest Trophy in 1993, and the County Championship, AXA League
Trophy and Benson & Hedges cup in 1994.
Members and supporters will no doubt be delighted to see Bob return to Edgbaston after
his time abroad, and all will be hoping for an exciting and successful start to the new
millennium.
The Club will not be renewing Phil Neales contract at the end of the year but
would like to place on record their thanks for his valuable contribution over the last
five years in bringing success in the form of three trophies to Edgbaston.
