WARWICKSHIRE COUNTY CRICKET CLUB PRESS RELEASE
Andy Moles To RetireAndy Moles,
Warwickshire's 37 year old opening batsman, has today announced that he will be retiring
from first class cricket at the end of the season to take up a first team coaching
position with the Free State Cricket Union in Bloemfontein, South Africa, after 13 years
with the Club.
Joining 'the Bears' in 1986 from Moseley Cricket Club, Andy
was very much a 'homegrown' cricketer, who quickly established himself as a gritty,
determined and highly successful batsman.
Dennis Amiss, Wawickshire's Chief Executive, said:
"The Club would like to pay tribute to one of the
County's leading batsmen who played a major part in the Club's successes of the 1990's.
Andy scored more than 13,000 runs during his long career at Edgbaston, with an
average of 38.59, and must have been unlucky that international honours eluded him."
