Coventry could soon
have another boxing champion to crow about.
Super-featherweight Dean Pithie is in line for a possible crack at three titles after
his seven round demolition of Leicester's Kelton McKenzie at Cheshunt last night.
It makes him the No.1 contender for Charles Shepherd's British title and Pithie, 24,
revealed his next fight will be in Coventry at the end of February.
"My promoter is trying to line up Pedro Farradas of Spain who is rated No.5 in
Europe.
"Shepherd is fighting for the Commonwealth title in January and if I beat
Farradas, he will have to fight me. It means I could be in line for a shot at the British
and Commonwealth titles, or I might go straight on to a European title fight."
