Jivens And Sturgess To Debut Against PlymouthThe
Coventry Crusaders are pleased to announce that Milek Jivens will play his debut game for
the Crusaders on Saturday 17 October at Plymouth. Milek has been granted a work permit by
the Department of Employment, and will be a Crusader coach in the Community. He has been
training with the Crusaders and is itching to play on court with his teamates.
Dip Donaldson said
"Milek is a great player to have on the team and he will help the Crusaders to
climb back to the number one spot."
Milek will be a vital conponent to the team for Saturday's away trip to Plymouth who
finished second in the league last season and are currently unbeaten this season.
Saturday night will also see Crusaders new signing Tim Sturgess make his debut.
Sturgess, who is 22 years old, 6ft tall and has been training with the Crusaders for the
past three weeks, has come up though the Leicester Riders Cadet and Junior ranks. He
has Budweiser experience - already playing three games this season. Dip Donaldson
said:
"Tim is a great 3 point shooter, as a guard he will
compliment Rick and Milek and add to the already strong guard team."
The third round of the National Trophy will be played at
Taunton, who beat Solent in round 2 last week. Taunton are in Division 2 and have been
given the home court advantage for their next trophy game. The Crusaders will once again
have a winning team travelling to Taunton hoping to go through to the quarter finals on
the 7 November.
