JAN 99] COVENTRY CRUSADERS NEWS
Crusader Players In Top 20 Of Key Stats After the first 10 games of the League Season, the NBL
have released key stats on individual player performance up to 30th December 1998. Several
members of the Crusaders squad make it into the top 20 lists which measure a range of
achievements.
Despite the team's tricky start to to the season,
both Dip Donaldson (11th) and Rick Solvason (9th) are in the top 20 of Leading Scorers.
With the rate at which Rick has been scoring in 1999, his average of 20.75 per game will
already have been boosted dramatically. Watch him move higher in the next month or so.
In Floor Shooting Percentage, Darren Weaver is the only
Crusader in the top 20 with 56.41% of Field Goals Attempted being successful.
In the Free Throw Shooting Percentage, Solvason and
Donaldson again figure highly with Dip in 8th position with a 73.47% accuracy.
In the area of Offensive Rebounds, Crusaders show as many
players as any team with Donaldson, Weaver and Alvin Scott making appearances in 14th,
16th and 20th respectively.
Teenager Robert Clarke makes his first appearance on the
hot shots lists with 5 Blocked Shots in 7 games putting him into the top 10 with a score
of 0.71 per game.
Overall, the 11 categories reflect accurately the strong
teams in the league in the final quarter of 1998. League leaders Guildford have players
topping the lists in 4 categories. 2nd placed Raiders had 2 players on top. The Clippers,
Devils and Magic also head tables.
But with the way this Crusaders team is benefitting from
the new coaching regimen and the changes that owner Dip Donaldson made in the lead up to
Christmas, watch more Crusaders make the top spots in the next few months.
