great outside shot to play outside. His all-round game will really be a boost to our
players and our strategy for winning.
Derrick will be employed by the Crusader Foundation as
Director of Basketball Operations which will cover the Community Development Programme and
the Schools Coaching Programme. He will also head up the development teams, and coaches
for each development team.
Crusader owner, Dip Donaldson says:
"Pope shares the same vision that I have for
basketball in the city, and being a father, he understands the needs of young people. I am
really looking forward to having his valuable contribution to our team.
"Derrick is the best player I have ever signed here in
Coventry, the team will be looking to his leadership skills as the way forward for us to
win."
Derrick, and his wife Shari and their five children will be
moving Coventry, from their current home in Grande Fort Philippe, France to join the
Crusader organisation toward the end of this month.
