Devonish Fifth In Euro FinalCoventry
sprinter Marlon Devonish only managed fifth in the final of the 100m at the European
Athletics Championships in Budapest.
The Coventry Godiva runner came home in 10.24
seconds in a race where fellow Britains Darren Campbell and Dwain Chambers took the first
and second spots. Campbell's time of 10.04 seconds was a new championship record.
The stage had been set for a British 1-2-3 when Devonish
had finished second to Chambers in their semi-final in a personal best of 10.21 seconds.
